DAVID AND GOLIATH

Ancient spirit
of human solidarity
pushes a bunch of volunteers
to carry food and medicines
to the martyrized people of Palestine.
They sail with a romantic wooden vessel through the sea
towards the Gaza Strip.
A brave ideal suddenly obstructed by a senseless abuse of power.
That helicopter in the sky,
that ladder, those soldiers on the deck of the boat;
a collusion, violence, beatings,
wounded and death.
The star of David thus becomes a myriad of stars
hurling themselves with arrogance
on that little Turkish boat.
Overwhelming and injustice
dominate the scene
and David becomes Goliath.
But you can't stop the Spirit
even if you block materially
one of its symbols;
you can only send it back....
