DENIED LAND

Desperate refugees on decadent boats
Infinite sea
Away from hell, from wars, from misery, from disease
Seeking a new life and a new land.

A new Odyssey goes on, everlasting on the reign of water
Everything seems to proceed on the right direction
Like a dream that comes true, but then…
That sad, tragic denial, that red line:
A cruel obstacle raises
As an ancient forgotten tyrant
As an averse Neptune in fatal waters
Shattered dreams, discouraged souls
And tragic billows seem to swallow
Bodies and hopes…
…till when a promised land?
